a new offering for after-school at P.S. 124
Starting this week, families with students in grades 3-5 can apply to participate in the FREE P.S. 124 Community Schools Afterschool Program. This will be a fifteen-week program, running from Tuesday, March 6th to Tuesday, June 5th. Learn more about the Community Schools Initiative here.
Scroll down to read the letter from Counseling in Schools director Quinton S. Lampkin. If you are interested in your child participating in this FREE afterschool enrichment opportunity, please complete and sign the following application form, and return it to your child’s classroom teacher by Tuesday, February 13th.
The program instructors are from one of New York City’s leading arts-in-education organizations, LeAP – Learning through an Expanded Arts Program. The LeAP teachers will work with students in exploring creative movement, music, improvisation, choreography, and performance. In addition, an organization called CARE (Children Achieving Results Effectively) will lead students in martial arts training, with a core concentration on life skills (e.g., respect, discipline, and self-control).
Note: Due to limited slots in these after-school classes, students will be chosen through a lottery system.English_Afterschool Letter_as of 2.5
