Two 5th graders were selected to present the 5th grade class’s project at the D15 PBL Showcase in March 2024. The project discussed NYC’s rodent problem.
On January 19, 2024 PS 124’s Debate Team participated in the inaugural District 15 Debate Tournament. Our team debated on the topic of year-round schools against 7 other District 15 elementary schools. Two of our team members scored within the top 25 (out of 100): Cassidy Judd and Marlee Prows. Huge congratulations to our Debate Team on their due diligence in crafting their speeches. They all worked out practicing their delivery, asking questions, and providing rebuttals. The next Debate Tournament will be on May 2, 2024 on the topic of Outer Space Exploration.
January 11th was the Day of Service at City Harvest. Our 5th Grade Student Council went to help pack apples for more than 3,000 households!
The CIS team hosted PS 124’s International Potluck in November 2023. Families were invited to bring a cultural dish to share and to enjoy an evening of fun with other families, staff, and teachers.
PS 124 participated in the annual Brooklyn PTA Fun Run hosted by NYC City Councilwoman, Shahana Hanif. Familes and staff showed up and showed off their PS 124 pride!
PS 124 brought back its Back to School Carnival this year! Staffed by teachers, school staff, & parent volunteers, families enjoyed carnival games, face painting, bounce houses, and more!
